Dead Can Dance (DCD) began as, and was primarily, the work of Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard.
Over the years, Dead Can Dance had many talented musicians to tour and record with them.
Some of them were Peter Ulrich, John Bonnar, Robert Perry, and more. Go to the Biography section for more details.
The album artwork [of our debut], a ritual mask from New Guinea, attempted to provide a visual reintrepretation of the meaning of the name Dead Can Dance.
The mask, though once a living part of a tree is dead; nevertheless it has, through the artistry of its maker, been imbued with a life force of its own.
To understand why we chose the name, think of the transformation of inanimacy to animacy.
Think of the processes concerning life from death and death into live.

The members of Dead Can Dance have reunited again after a 6 year sabbatical. A worldwide tour is being planned.
The next tour is planned for 2005. Please visit deadcandance.com for tour dates.
Only Lisa knows the answer to this question.
